and she looked so much younger than she was.
âOut!â Claire thundered, pointing at the door. There werenât
really any words for what Haley had done. She was so brazen.
God, she screamed to be punished.
Haley slowly shook her head. Couldnât she see the way
; Claireâs body stilled? Couldnât she sense that it was the
posture of a huntress, ready to devour her prey? The only thing
Claire could think to do was to scare some sense into Haley.
To punish sense into her. The silly thing had no notion of what
was coming for her, the storm that Claire was about to
unleash. There was no fear in her eyes. Only anticipation.
Desire. Her breathing was off, and her skin was flushed, but
no, it wasnât fear at all.
Claire tried one more time to save Haley. To salvage the
situation. To shore up her control. âIf you stay, you have no
idea what youâre getting yourself into. Youâre too innocent.
All sweetness. You canât imagine the dark things I want to do
to you.â
Haley licked her bottom lip, and her pupils went wide.
âShow me.â
Claire crossed the room in the blink of an eye. She had her
hand around Haleyâs throat, loosely collaring her. Haleyâs
breath hitched and her eyes flew to Claireâs face, but there still
was no fear there. Just a hard want and a heady amount of
burning defiance.
âGo ahead. Do it.â Even with Claireâs hand around her
throat, she reached down and pulled up her skirt. She leaned
back just a little, but it was enough to force Claire to let her
go.
